This season made it clear that some teams need a change in the work. One of them was Los Angeles Lakers who failed to make it to the postseason with their ‘Big 3′. While the project with Russell Westbrook did not work out, the blame fell much on the coach Frank Vogel. He was even fired as the head coach. In the light of the SIxers’ embarrassing playoff run, Kendrick Perkins has a perfect coaching candidate ready for the purple and gold.
While the Lakers had problems come up throughout the season, the 76ers were in a cold war since the start of the season. Their entire situation with Ben Simmons did not benefit the team in anyways. Moreover, with James Harden not giving even close to his best, the Sixers were eliminated in 6 games by the Miami Heat. And Perk feels their coach, Doc Rivers needs to get away from Philadelphia.
He recommended the Lakers look at him and said he and LeBron would be a perfect fit.

Lakers and Doc Rivers partnership the key?
The Lakers had one of the worst seasons in recent years failing to tack up even 40 wins this season. With a plague of injuries hitting the camp, LeBron James’ historic season fell to nothing. In addition, the trade for Russell Westbrook did not turn out the way fans would have wanted. On the other hand, the Sixers were all delighted with the entry of James Harden into their colors.
However, after his initial burst with Joel Embiid, the Beard was a no-show in the playoffs. And his recent performance pushed Kendrick Perkins to believe Rivers needs to get away from Harden and join the Lakers. But the Lake show fans kicked out the suggestion.

The Lakers were barraged with injuries this season which saw their main defenders sit out. However, with the firepower the purple and gold possess, Rivers could do a great job with the team. Being a defense specialist, Rivers can become the solution to the Lakers’ poor defense. While Doc hasn’t made an impression by blowing away leads, it isn’t a surprise that he is one of the leading coaches in the NBA. Doc has coached multiple great teams and knows how to work around the stars. Notably, he guided the Celtics to a championship with stars such as Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, and Rajon Rondo all on the same team.

Hence, with the current difficulty of not being able to figure out the role of Russ, Rivers could make a huge impact. Moreover, he knows his way around the NBA court better than most coaches. While the options are open, the Lakers could keep their eye out for Rivers. He could become the potential key to LeBron’s fifth title.
