After an elusive victory in the All-Star game, it is time for LeBron James to focus back on the Los Angeles Lakers. His side entered the break as the 9th seed and they are in some real trouble. Despite the King putting up career numbers at 37, the Lakers have failed to pick up on his energy. Now, news has come out that James won’t be interested in playing for the Lakers much more. Despite him being their best player so far, fans did not cut him any slack.

LeBron is not a new customer when it comes to moving teams. So far in his 19-year career, The Akron Hammer has played three teams. His latest tenure with the Lakers has been a success as he brought them a championship. However, this season the story has been different as the purple and gold haven’t matched the fan’s expectations. And with James being a monumental figure in the new look, news of him looking to leave isn’t holding up well with the fans.

LeBron James ready to move on?

James is currently under contract with the Lakers until the 2022-23 season. Having another year left in his contract, he will be eligible to sign an extension in the coming off-season. However, according to an NBA insider, James will be looking for a move away, if he doesn’t sign an extension with the purple and gold. With the Lakers not seeing much success this season, James may look to play alongside his son when he gets to the league.

While fans are giving the King some serious slack, there isn’t much on his table. LeBron has given the Lakers his all and so far his moves have worked well for the organization. His push to sign Anthony Davis led them to win a championship in their first season together. However, with his right-hand man picking constant injuries, it is about time James thinks about the future.

His heavy involvement in signing Russ hasn’t worked so far in his championship pursuit for this season. But for LeBron, he is doing all he can, averaging 29 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists for the season. With the Lakers in a critical spot, the second half of the season will decide a lot of things.

James doesn’t have many years left in his career and he has a dream of playing with Bronny. Hence, if he doesn’t see the Lakers as a potential competing team in the coming years, he may decide to test free agency once his contract is over.
