After a below par 2020-21 season, bringing the NBA Championship back to LA will be the principal goal for LeBron James and co; and they have shaped up a potent side. In a move that sent shock waves around the basketball fraternity, owner Jeanie Buss and her team opted to bring in 32-year-old Russell Westbrook from Washington. Despite many people questioning the move, Westbrook brings tons of experience to the table. Moreover, the guard has a great rapport with Lakers’ leading men LeBron James and Anthony Davis. The former NBA MVP will be desperate to secure a title with his new franchise.

  • Carmelo Anthony

Another veteran joined the Lakers squad this year- Portland Trail Blazers legend Carmelo Anthony. At 37 years of age, Anthony is a 10-time All-Star, and has been part of three separate Olympic winning sides with Team USA. He is now likely to improve the strength of the Lakers off the bench.
