As the trade deadline is coming up soon in the NBA on the 10th of February, a rumored Russell Westbrook and Kemba Walker trade is shaping up. Fans have a mixed reaction to this development on Twitter. This potential trade between Lakers-Knicks is getting traction due to ESPN’s Bobby Mark’s idea.
As per Bobby Mark of ESPN, in this trade, on one hand, Lakers get Kemba Walker, Evan Fournier, and Alec Burks. On the other hand, the Knicks receive Russell Westbrook, DeAndre Jordan, Wayne Ellington, and a 2027 first-round pick (protected top 14).

It’s actually a good idea… plus you know who’s benefiting from this the most… Julius Randle!!! He won’t be taking the ball up the court no more and trying to be a PG instead of a PF… and the Lakers get more shooters and Bron goes back to being the PG full time…

it would not be in the interest for the Lakers to take on Fournier's contract for at least 2 more seasons and Burks and Walker for another. No money freed up this offseason, and less in the 2023 offseason compared to if you were to keep Westbrook

Randle and Westbrook together there would be more bricks than at a building site! Randle already can't handle not having the ball at all times, imagine what he'd be like with Westbrook! I'm not opposed to Westbrook but Randle would need to be traded in a separate deal.

Russell Westbrook and the Lakers this season
The Los Angeles Lakers are at an unimpressive 9th position in the Western Conference. They have a win-loss record of 25-27 this season currently. In addition, Russell Westbrook, who fell just one point shy off a triple-double yesterday, is also not performing at his superstar level. He is averaging 18.7 PPG, which is 33rd in the league.
He is also 33rd in the league for rebounds, with 7.9 per game. His dimes per game are also only at 7.8, making him 9th in the league. Furthermore, his player efficiency rating is at a poor 15.83, which is 95th in the league.

Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis played the last Lakers game against Portland Trailblazers without LeBron James. LeBron is out due to his left knee swelling issue, but still, the Lakers won 99-94 yesterday. James will probably sit this one out too while the other stars have to play back-to-back games as they match up against the LA Clippers for a battle for LA.
