Boston Celtics legend Kevin Garnett just took shots at one of Stephen Curry?s Warriors teammates and it is not Draymond Green. In fact, it is the 26-years old, Kevon Looney. The 6?9 center, despite being a three-time NBA champion, was not in the good books of power forward Kevin Garnett.

Kevin Garnett was one of the most formidable power forwards in the league. Even though he only won one NBA championship, he was a tough player. Known to trash talk and get into the head of his opponents, Garnett did not back down from a challenge.

Kevin Garnett with some harsh words for Kevon Looney

It is not easy to earn Garnett?s respect. And looks like he doesn?t speak too highly of the three-time NBA champion. Despite being an undersized center, Looney is good at clearing boards for the team.

More often than not, he can score a couple of points in the paint as well. He hasn?t been given the starting center role for the Golden State Warriors team. But he is a good role player and a backup center.

While on his show, KG Certified, Garnett spoke about Stephen Curry?s teammate Kevon Looney. He said, ?Looney gonna fall 8 times, grab the rebound, guard AD, guard f***ing [Jokic], guard f***ing Embiid. He don?t give a f**k… Looney about 25 years old [and] look like he 72 years old out there.?

It doesn?t look like the two have bad blood between each other, but this could definitely spark something up. Garnett was never shy about making controversial statements even when he was in the league.

But he always backed up his trash talk with his excellent gameplay on the floor. And as good of a role player as Looney is, he might not be an all-star material, but he is an integral part of the team.

Looney has played seven seasons in the NBA, all for the Golden State Warriors. And he has won three championships with the team as well. But looking at what Garnett said, he might not have the certain athleticism or strength to guard those big men in the league.

Nikola Jokic is a two-time MVP and pretty nifty in the post. He is not a ball hog and actively looks to feed the ball to players slashing toward the paint. Joel Embiid on the other hand, has strength and a sweet shooting form in his forte.?

Embiid can give players the dream shake and fade away in the post with ease. And since Looney is only 6?9, it will be hard for him to guard players who are faster or stronger than him. Let?s hope this only motivates Looney to up his gameplay on the floor.
