The little girl had even worn a Brooklyn Nets jersey as she held up her golden-bordered poster. In capital letters she had written, “KD is my GOAT pick, Sorry MJ, I am only 12“.
Kevin Durant finished the night with 23 points and 4 rebounds along with 4 assists. He was the second-highest scorer for the team tonight. The Nets have indeed climbed the ladder to be the second seed of the Eastern Conference, with a 24-12 record.
While Michael Jordan’s legacy as a basketball player still crowns His Airness, his team, the Charlotte Hornets struggle to make waves as they sit at the 14th seed of the Conference. Furthermore, the Nets are on an 11-game winning streak, the most of any team in the league currently.
Does Kevin Durant match the GOAT credentials?
Kevin Durant’s resume has undoubtedly been impressive. The two-time NBA champion has been known to be a reliable player when it comes to scoring. According to ESPN, “As a scorer, Durant remains the most versatile individual force in basketball. Averaging 29.9 points per game, this might be his best season as a scorer since 2013-14“. They also noted that his 59.6% conversion rate is higher than Michael Jordan’s. KD has also shown similarities to the fluidity between “midrange volume and efficiency” like Jordan.
