A longtime LeBron James fan recently wrote an open letter to Brittney Griner, currently serving a nine-year sentence in a Russian penal colony. Surprisingly, James’ big-time fan Jason Goudlock is currently serving an indefinite prison sentence of 34 years for aggravated robbery and felonious assault.
Back in 2014, Goudlock wrote a letter to the parole board requesting parole to witness LeBron James play for Cleveland once again. However, the Ohio prisoner got little sympathy from Griner at that time. Despite Griner’s comments, Jason Goudlock has offered his sincere support and solidarity to the two-time Olympic gold medalist.?

In his open letter, Jason Goudlock reminded Brittney Griner about the comments she made in a 2014 interview outside LAX Airport. The Ohio prisoner claimed that Griner’s comments were sensationalized out of context by various media outlets. In the interview, Brittney Griner had commented, “Get him a TV in the cell(instead of granting a parole).”
Goudlock offers important advice to Brittney Griner
?In a recently penned open letter, Goudlock claimed to have been thinking about the injustices faced by Brittney Griner in Russia. He said,?“I’m writing this open letter to you in the interest of solidarity, that is, to tell you that I want you to #StayMandelaStrong until you are freed!”
Jason Goudlock advised Griner to draw inspiration from former South African president Nelson Mandela who fought against the Apartheid system in his country from jail. Moreover, Goudlock suggested that BG was a strong and phenomenal athlete. Therefore, she has the capability of overcoming any obstacle like Mike Tyson and Serena Williams.?
Goudlock also guided Griner to look within herself. The LeBron James fan told the eight-time All-Star to look inside and find her ‘on switch’. He added, “Activate that switch and do what you have to do to protect your mind, body, and soul!”

The veteran inmate also suggested that Griner must remember her inner strength and continue to fight for her freedom. The WNBA star would need all the support she can get to keep fighting the inhumane conditions in the IK-2 penal colony. However, it is heartwarming to see Jason Goudlock offering strength to BG during the toughest phase of her life.?
