Stephen Curry is arguably the greatest shooter this game has ever seen, and he is arguably the greatest Golden State Warriors player ever. Warriors fans adore him and he is loved throughout the bay area. But this wasn’t always the case.

When Curry was initially drafted, the fans considered him a little kid with weak ankles. He was supposed to be a backup point guard for Monta Ellis. When Elis was traded to the Bucks in 2012, the fans were furious as this meant they were stuck with Curry.

He had shown potential, but he was prone to injuries. The Warriors fans did not like the trade. But as years went by, they saw Curry develop into one of the league’s best and transform the game of basketball as we know it.

Too $Hort says Warriors fans were mad at Stephen Curry after the Elis trade

Too $Hort is an American Rapper, and he is also a Golden State Warriors fan. He was recently on the Club Shay Shay podcast with Shannon Sharpe and he talks about how the fans looked at Curry when he came to Golden State.

He says, “We really questioned the Monta Ellis trade. You’re gonna trade Monta and who could be our point? The little kid with the weak ankles? People was mad.”

He also recalls the first time seeing Curry. $Hort adds, ” The Warriors, they used to club… The new Warriors, they don’t really club… but the old Warriors… they were in the club every night. I was like who is the little boy with the Warriors?”

He said Curry looked like a little kid until he got his goatee. And he said that he couldn’t believe Curry was the backup point guard. Curry is nicknamed the Baby Face Assassin, as he smiles all the time while destroying you on the court. Warriors fans may not have liked Curry back then, but now he is their leader and face of the franchise. He turned them around after winning a couple of MVPs and three championships.
