Brooklyn Nets recently traded James Harden to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Ben Simmons. The Nets also got Seth Curry, Andre Drummond, and two first-round picks from the Sixers. The Sixers, on the other side, got Paul Millsap alongside ‘The Beard’, James Harden. Harden has recently landed in Philly and received a warm welcome from Sixers President of basketball operations, Daryl Morey.

Daryl Morey has been with the Sixers since 2020 and has worked wonders for them ever since. He played an important role in the James Harden-Ben Simmons trade deal that happened on the trade deadline day on Thursday. However, Morey has previously worked with Harden during his time with the Rockets.

Daryl Morey was with Houston Rockets for more than a decade. When the opportunity to bring Harden to Philly came, Morey jumped up to the opportunity and completed the deal before the trade deadline elapsed. Harden recently landed in Philly after his move to the Sixers.

Morey gave him a warm hug while receiving him in Philly and shared the video of the same on his Instagram story. NBA Twitter loved this from Morey and reacted to his story.

It’s safe to say Daryl Morey is a happy man after signing James Harden at the Sixers. Morey even took to Instagram to share the picture of himself, his daughter Karen Morey, and James Harden. Morey captioned the post with an emoji of a trophy, which might be a hint about what the Sixers are looking forward to this season.

The Sixers are currently on a 34-22 record and hope to reach the playoffs safely. Harden’s new team are fifth in the Eastern Conference table and he will be looking forward to helping them mount a serious championship campaign.
