The Milwaukee Bucks are once again one of the best teams in the leagues. As the defending champions, Giannis Antetokounmpo has propelled them into the 3rd seed in the Eastern Conference. However, it also wouldn’t be possible without Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday. Recently in an interview, a former NBA champion spoke about the importance of Jrue Holiday to the Bucks and how he is like a Kevin Durant type player on defense.

With just Antetokounmpo and Middleton as a duo, the Bucks were a great team. But they were unable to get past the finishing line in the postseason. Falling short of the finals every single time, the Milwaukee front office knew they needed another star. Likewise, they traded for one of the best on-ball defenders, Jrue Holiday. And his addition proved to be the best move they made as he bought in a championship his very first season.

As a player known for his defense, even Andre Iguodala held immense praise for the Bucks point guard.

The Kevin Durant of defense

Recently, Andre Iguodala spoke with The Athletic. During his interview, he showered immense praise on Holiday. Iguodala said he did an amazing job in the NBA players guarding Devin Booker and Chris. Moreover, he called Holiday a generational talent as players go the opposite direction when he is on them.

Iguodala said: “You saw what he did in the NBA Finals last year. He guarded Chris Paul. He guarded Devin Booker. They’d just go the complete opposite way of him and that’s a generational talent. It’s kind of like a Kyrie or a Steph or Kevin Durant on offense, he’s that guy on defense.”

Jrue is one of the best guard defenders in the game today. Not only that, but he also has the ability to go off on the offensive end. Holiday is a quick and agile defender who makes the job hard even for the best. Even Kevin Durant named Holiday the best guard defender in the NBA. In the finals last season, Holiday did exactly what the Bucks roped him in for. He made some important plays on both ends of the floor including a clutch steal in game 5.
