There are a huge number of stories that come out daily on the players, staff, teams, etc. in the NBA universe. But sometimes some of the stories regarding the entities could make the entity himself question authenticity. And when such stories come out regarding a team that is not having a good time, then it leads to extra trouble. One such incident happened this Thursday regarding Markieff Morris and Ben Simmons. But Morris came out and voiced his opinion by claiming the source of the story.

When talking about Markieff Morris, he joined the Nets after a season plagued with injury with the Miami Heat. Morris also has an NBA championship under his name, which he won during his one tenure with the Lakers. He currently comes on from the bench for the Nets and is yet to show a significant impact on the team.

A team’s bad performance gets caught by how fast the team calls its first player meetings. And the Nets called its first player meeting on 29th October, just 10 days after the regular season started. At the time, the Nets had won only one out of their five games. However, after around 19 days of the first-players meeting, the Nets won 5 out of the 10 games played till yesterday. Not to forget that the Nets star Ben Simmons is yet to display any significant performance this season. With Irving missing these games, Kevin Durant has been leading the Nets from the front.

Meanwhile, ‘The Athletic NBA,’ reported that Ben Simmons took the words of Markieff Morris in stride and also listened to him attentively in the players’ meeting. However, contradicting the same, Morris reflected on this report and took a dig at the source not being confirmed.

He further stated the claims as ‘false claims.’ Morris finished off by saying, “Let me and my guys hoop!”

The Brooklyn Nets are slowly getting back on track after a poor start this season. The absence of Kyrie Irving and an out-of-form Ben Simmons has put all pressure on Kevin Durant. Notably, Durant has been the frontman of the Nets. However, that doesn’t take away attention from the underperformance of Ben Simmons, one of the most valuable players of the Nets, who seemed to be struggling with injuries this season.

With proclaimed to be one of the main men of the Nets, Ben Simmons was unable to make any significant impact. Mostly coming off from the bench, he currently averages around 5.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 5.6 assists.
