LeBron James and Michael Jordan are undoubtedly among the biggest names in basketball. In their respective eras, the duo have dominated the sport. Unfortunately, both of them never got to share the court together. Yet, they have shown flashes of brilliance that mirror one another on so many occasions. Today, we take a look at an iconic image of Bulls’ Jordan and Lakers’ LeBron from a 2007 Slam Dunk contest.

One of the oldest conundrums of the NBA is the fact that LeBron James never participated in the Slam Dunk contest. Way back in 2007, however, both him and ‘His Airness’ were at the contest. While Jordan had already retired by then, his counterpart was with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The pair held the court prior to the commencement of the tournament, as seen in the image. The now 58-year-old seems to be enjoying his drink, and is staring down a seemingly unaware James.

The major throwback between two of the NBA’s best brings back so many nostalgic moments. Fans also went wild on social media, taking no time to respond to the post. While many were left baffled, some also made some hilarious analogies.

One fan proceeded to say, “LeBron [James] was too scared to compete in the dunk contest.” This was a popular opinion, with many reiterating the fact that the 36-year-old never took part in a contest that celebrates a skill he has mastered. Meanwhile, another fan said, “Jordan gave him that ‘you lucky I’m not playing’.”
