LeBron James remains a hero for many aspiring kids around the world. With his global appeal, LeBron often speaks out about various social issues too. He recently reacted to Martin Luther King Jr Day.

LeBron James revealed his thoughts about MLK Day alongside some of his teammates on a post by the Lakers. LeBron expressed his reverence to Martin Luther King Jr. as others across the league joined him. He explained the values that King stood for and how he inspired the Lakers talisman.

LeBron said, “MLK Day means so much. It means someone that stood for something that was more than him. He stood for the greater people, no matter their race, no matter their color. And he stood for love and not hate.”

Martin Luther King Jr. born on 15 January 1929 was a prominent American civil rights leader. Some of LeBron’s teammates like Anthony Davis, DeAndre Jordan, and Russell Westbrook also spoke about MLK Day. They also wore shirts during training that promoted MLK’s message.

Like LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers, many other NBA star and popular NBA franchises in the NBA paid their respects to Martin Luther King Jr. Some franchises like the Chicago Bulls honored individuals in their communities for their selfless acts. Houston Rockets roped in NBA legend Dwyane Wade to speak about MLK’s legacy.
