The turbulent season of the Los Angeles Lakers is over. LeBron James may have had one of his best scoring years, but that amounted to nothing as he missed the playoffs for only the fourth time in 19 seasons.

Despite being out of the playoffs, critics and trolls have still targeted LeBron. And one such tweet by LeBron led to the further mockery of the King and the Lakers.

The Minnesota Timberwolves took on the Los Angeles Clippers in the play-in tournament on Tuesday. The Wolves won 109-104? in a hard-fought game and secured the 7th seed in the playoffs and their players were ecstatic. Maybe a little too overzealous in their celebration.

Many certainly mocked the celebration of Patrick Beverley. One of them was LeBron who tweeted out a laughing emoji. And the fans did not take too kindly to LeBron’s tweet. Especially since he missed the playoffs again.

The Timberwolves secure the seventh seed

The Wolves had a home-court advantage for the play-in game but they still had to face a formidable opponent. Paul George had just returned to the lineup, and the Clippers were looking dangerous.

This was a golden opportunity for both teams as a win would secure the 7th seed and a much-needed rest. A loss meant they would have to go back home to play another game and probably face the league’s best team, the Phoenix Suns.

It was a close game throughout, as both teams could not hold on to their leads for a long period of time. In the end, it was the Wolves who came away with the victory. Anthony Edwards poured in 30 points while D’Angelo Russell chipped in with 29.

They made some clutch shots in the end which put the Wolves on top. Paul George led both teams in scoring with 34 points but that wasn’t enough as the Clippers now face the winner of the Pelicans and Spurs for the eighth seed.
