The NBA and WNBA do their best to make each other grow. However, it is clear that the NBA landscape is much more dominant compared to the WNBA. But players do everything they can to support their fellow women’s basketball players. Recently, LeBron James pulled off a major move.
The WNBA is currently going through its playoff semifinals matchups. The Phoenix Mercury and Las Vegas Aces battled it out in their Game 3 matchup. Phoenix came out with a dominating win over the Las Vegas team and are now 2-1 up in the series.
However, another special occasion came for one of the Phoenix players. Notably, Diana Taurasi got to debut the new LeBron 19’s in Game 3 against the Aces.

LeBron James shows his support to the WNBA
With the vast difference in popularity, many would feel the WNBA stage isn’t the best for promotion. However, LeBron has his own ideas and, for him, support comes first. He showed his support to Mercury’s guard, Diana Taurasi, by letting her debut the LeBron 19’s.
Before this, they only appeared in the Space Jam movie. This was the first time that they have officially taken to the basketball floor and it is great to see this move. What better way than to allow a fellow Space Jam star to debut them?
Taurasi showed out in the new LeBrons as she ended the game with 9 points, 6 assists, and an important win.

However, James wasn’t the only one who showed his support for this game. His best friend, Chris Paul, also came in big with his support. According to the reports, CP3 bought 500 tickets for the game between Phoenix Mercury and the Las Vegas Aces. He, along with Devin Booker, was present courtside for the game too.
Moreover, other NBA stars also came out. In the other semifinals between Chicago Sky and Connecticut Suns, Bulls star came to show support. Notably, DeMar DeRozan and Coby White were present for that game. To sum it up, the NBA is doing its part in showing that women’s basketball deserves the same recognition as men’s basketball.
