LeBron James has got a finger in many pies. These “pies”, or other businesses, have made him a billionaire athlete. He has joined a selected club of sportspersons whose worth is in ten figures. One of them is Liverpool FC. James has a partnership with the owners, Fenway Sports Group (FSG). Since this partnership was revealed, he has been an active well-wisher of “The Reds” and regularly cheers them on.

Hence, he couldn’t be happier after Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah signed a contract with the club. Fans of the club are also relieved by this sudden news. And Liverpool can now breathe a sigh of relief after this transfer saga is officially over.

There were worries that the Egyptian goal scorer, who had only one season left on his Liverpool contract, may leave the team at the end of the 2022–23 season if he and the club couldn’t agree on a new deal. To the surprise of many, the 30-year-old signed a new three-year deal that will reportedly pay him £350,000 per week.

LeBron James expressed his happiness for Salah on Instagram when it was announced that he would be staying. The new contract will reportedly make Salah the highest-paid player at the club. He arguably deserves it for his recent performances for Liverpool. And Liverpool will likely not regret their decision. Salah is widely regarded as one of the best players in the world and a bonafide Ballon d’Or contender.

Why was LeBron James happy about Salah’s extension?

Mo Salah has flourished since joining Liverpool in 2017, taking home three Premier League Golden Boot trophies. He and Son Heung-min of Tottenham Hotspur shared the league’s top scorer title in 2021–22 with 23 goals each.

Furthermore, under the Egyptian King’s guidance, Liverpool won the Champions League and the Premier League in 2018/19 and 2019/20 respectively. In addition, he now holds the record for the most goals in a single PL season with 32 goals.

LeBron James, though, has consistently supported Liverpool. Salah’s dedication to the team over the long haul also offers the Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James hope that his team will continue to contend for titles in the Premier League and other European competitions.
