Kyrie Irving is one of the NBA’s most incredible stars. The Nets’ guard oozes out incredible moments every time he steps on the court. In fact, he even had a 50 point performance in a recent win for the Brooklyn Nets. Clearly, he is a key factor for the Nets to win the title this season.

However, despite his amazing performances, the fans seated at the Barclays Center are unable to witness his greatness. This is due to his home game unavailability because of a private-sector mandate that allows Kyrie to attend home games but prevents him from taking part in them.
In light of Irving’s situation, Lakers’ star LeBron James voiced support for his former Cavs teammate.
LeBron James on Kyrie Irving
Although the Key2NYC mandate is being lifted, Irving still finds himself unavailable for home games. This is due to a private-sector mandate. Hence, in the Nets’ most recent win, Irving was spotted at the Barclays Center, but not in a Nets jersey playing the game. This led to his former teammate, LeBron James, speaking in his favor.

“FACTS FACTS FACTS!! It literally makes ABSOLUTELY ZERO SENSE!!!”?exclaimed LeBron.
“They say if common sense was common then we’d all have it. Ain’t that the truth,” he added.
Clearly LeBron feels like the rules make no sense. Especially since Kyrie is allowed to watch the game, but not take part in them.

The Future of the Brooklyn Nets
Considering Kyrie’s situation, the future of the Nets looks dicey at the moment. Additionally, with Simmons yet to return, the entire load of the team falls on Kevin Durant. Following KD’s 53 point performance and a much-needed win for the Nets, the franchise sits 8th in the East with a 35-33 record.

Here’s the catch though – Irving can only participate in 4 of the next 14 games for Brooklyn. This essentially means that Kyrie can only contribute to a max of 4 more wins for his team. Additionally, with Simmons also out, it is unlikely that the trio will feature together until the post-season.

This has put huge question marks on the fate of the Nets this season, especially since they are hanging by a thread for playoff contention. If they continue to stand 8th in the East, they will have to enter the playoffs via the play-in tournament. Regardless, it is now or never for the Nets. Winning every game from this point onwards is very critical.
