For this reason, a healthy diet and proper training are essential for them to give their best shot. In an interview with ESPN in 2018, James discussed his fondness for wine.

In 2016, James spoke with Business Insider about his intake before the game time:

Before competition for me would be like a chicken breast and maybe a little pasta. The carbs help because you’re going out and playing a lot of minutes,” he said.

 However, James also mentioned that he was absolutely okay with salad and veggies. Before a game, some fruit and a protein shake is also something that he consumes.

The wine consumption of LeBron James seems surprisingly healthy

Certainly, based on the ESPN interview, you would think that it is unwise for a professional athlete to consume such a large amount of wine. People have seen James posting photos of his empty bottle on Instagram, which clearly depicts his love for the same. However, he clarified that he is controlling his wine consumption, and taking care of the intake.

 The superstar stated that he had heard about the health benefits associated with wine, and that it was good for the heart.

It’s no surprise that James included the hashtag #GoodForMyHeart in one of his Instagram posts. As most doctors agree, red wine, when taken in moderation, has numerous benefits, such as helping to increase HDL cholesterol levels and lowering the risk of heart attacks.
