The Houston Rockets and Danny Green have officially reached an agreement. This allows the former San Antonio Spurs man to join any team interested in giving him a contract.

As of now, there are a handful of teams who might end up signing him. The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics are the frontrunners. However, it is not only the Cavs and the Celtics who are interested, it seems the Los Angeles Lakers and the Phoenix Suns are in the mix too.

“As Danny Green finalizes a buyout with the Houston Rockets, the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics have emerged as frontrunners to sign him as a free agent, sources tell ESPN. Lakers and Suns are involved too”, said Adrian Wojnarowski.

Interestingly, Green has played for the Lakers in the past. He was a Laker during the 2019-20 season and has played alongside LeBron. This might play a part in influencing where his future lies.

James, who was phenomenal in the game, passed the ball to Green who was wide-open. Despite having a reputation as a good shooter, Green missed and the Heat held onto game 5. The Lakers still led the series 3-2 but the pressure was mounting. Thankfully, Green’s miss did not hurt James and the Lakers much who clinched the 2020 NBA title.
