The 12x NBA All-Star Chris Paul recently added another feather to his cap. He was applauded for his efforts as he admittedly said, “…there was a feeling of completion” after recently earning his college degree. LeBron James took to Instagram to congratulate CP3 for his massive personal achievement. The duo has been friends for a long time, even before they got catapulted to their respective NBA careers.

Chris Paul is not just a famed basketball veteran, but now he is also a college graduate. The NBA world, including LeBron James, congratulated Paul. James?reposted a photo of the new graduate and wrote, “Congrats brother!!!!”?with fire and clapping emojis.

Paul seemingly wanted to escape the spotlight during the graduation ceremony. “I wanted to make sure that in no way I was trying to show them up on their special day“, CP3 said.

On the ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ show last year, LeBron shared his tight bond with Paul to guest host Arsenio Hall. “That is my brother. We have known each other since my junior year of high school“, recollected LeBron James. Paul is also godfather to Bryce Maximus James, LeBron and Savannah’s second child. Paul was also present during his birth.

Chris Paul earns an academic milestone

The Phoenix Suns star?attained?his bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications and Sports Management at Winston-Salem State University. It was also the same university that his parents attended.? He attended Wake Forest almost a decade ago and then decided to enroll at Winston-Salem State in 2020.

Paul was joined by his whole family for the graduation ceremony, after his win over the Los Angeles Clippers. Paul scored 15 points, 13 assists, and 7 rebounds on the night.

The HBCU advocate, and now graduate, also pledged every WSSU grad $2,500. He was among the top players in the league who had been at the helm of supporting historically Black colleges and universities. In the 2011 NBA lockout, he arranged a “de factor All-Star game” at WSS, that?featured LeBron James. Then, he donated $25,000 to the university.

Chris Paul spoke about his desire to graduate and earn his degree, saying: “And even though I was blessed and fortunate to go to the NBA, I still wanted to graduate“.
