The NCAA women’s basketball final created massive hype among the most prominent names of the game. A majority of the fans rooted for the Iowa Hawkeyes because of rising star, Caitlin Clark. However, the result didn’t go in favor of the Hawkeyes as they succumbed to the LSU Tigers in a lopsided game that had its controversial moments. Hours after the game, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James joined Magic Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, and millions of fans to celebrate LSU’s victory.

Many sporting icons like Patrick Mahomes, Candace Parker, Jamal Murray, and several others expressed their support for Caitlin Clark ahead of the final. Clark impressed everyone with her consecutive 41-point games in the last two rounds. Despite the popular support in the sporting world, the rising star couldn’t take her team across the line.

Shaq had already revealed LSU as his favorite of the tournament because of his loyalty to his alumnus. Moreover, he joined Magic Johnson after the game to celebrate the team’s victory. Following the two legends, King James extended his support for the LSU girls via his tweet. James retweeted a video comparing the locker room atmosphere of both teams from earlier rounds in the tournament. While the LSU girls were singing ‘Set this b**** off’ in the video, the Hawkeyes girls could be seen grooving to a song from ‘High School Musical’. Along with the video, James wrote, “Ayyyeee We A Set This (emoji) Off!” with multiple laughing emojis.

This tweet was enough for the fans to understand which team James supported in the finals.

Moreover, he showed his support for the Tigers forward Angel Reese with another tweet. Reese was slammed by several fans for her antics during the final. James shared a GIF about Reese and wrote, “FACTS!!!!! Love to see it.

In response to James’ tweet, fans expressed mixed opinions about the superstar. However, it won’t concern Reese as she was instrumental throughout the tournament and has earned the right to celebrate the program’s first-ever NCAA title. Nonetheless, some fans couldn’t get over the polarizing officiating in the final.

What went wrong in the finals?

The fans accused the referee of making several controversial calls in the game. Caitlin Clark received a controversial technical foul in the third quarter. Along with the tech, she also received 4 foul calls. Moreover, the Tigers’ head coach, Kim Mulkey, constantly intervened in the game and even pushed a ref away. However, the ref didn’t take any action against her. After the game, the fans flooded social media with a lot of opinions.
