“This game ranks as one of the most important performances of LeBron’s career, during what has been widely debated as his greatest NBA season”,?they said. The auction will begin in January 2023. Some reports suggest that the jersey could turn out to be the most expensive buy. However, many are certain that the jersey will be sold for around 3-5 million dollars.

If this turns out to be true, Michael Jordan will continue to hold the record for the most expensive jersey to be ever sold. The price at which the jersey was sold last year is 10.1 million dollars.

The jersey was from Game 1 of the 1998 finals. Michael Jordan bagged 33 points in the game. In 1998, the Chicago Bulls faced the Utah Jazz and went on to win their 6th championship title. During the finals series, Michael Jordan’s performance was breathtaking for many. He averaged 33.5 points per game and bagged a total of 201 points. Undoubtedly, he received the Finals MVP award while the Chicago Bulls won the title 4-2 in Game 6.

With this performance in mind, it was no surprise to fans that people wanted Jordan’s jersey desperately. After being sold for 10.1 million dollars, the head of Sotheby’s streetwear and modern collectibles auction, Brahm Wachter said, “record-breaking result, with an astounding 20 bids, solidifies Michael Jordan as the undisputed GOAT, proving his name and incomparable legacy is just as relevant as it was nearly 25 years ago.”
