However, the Lakers will not let go of Westbrook unless the King feels John Wall could be a better fit for the purple and gold.

In recent times, Westbrook hasn’t grown in the right direction for the Lakers. It has got to a point where the fans are also not in support of the former MVP. Hence, trade rumors around him were more with the Lakers desperate for a change. However, it seems LeBron will make the final call for the purple and gold for a potential Westbrook trade for John Wall.

LeBron James holds Westbrook’s fate

When Russ made his way to the Los Angeles Lakers, many were not in favor of the move. The fans and analysts felt a shooter would have done a lot better for the Lakers compared to Russ, who is a below par three point shooter. However, it was LeBron who pushed the Lakers into signing him. And so far, it has not paid off. Now, it all comes to him once again to take the final call on Russ’ future with the Lakers. NBA Twitter couldn’t stay quiet to this news.

The Lakers could see a potential deal sending Russ back to the Houston Rockets. They may look to bring in John Wall. The situation with Wall and the Rockets is not pleasant in any way. The former All-Star guard has agreed that he won’t play in the Rockets uniform and frequently travels away from the team to get his own practice in. Hence, there is no doubt he would be willing to leave.

Now the main question boils down to whether LeBron will pull the trigger. To this day, James has been a big supporter of Westbrook in LA. Despite all his struggles, the King hasn’t left his teammate in the dust and is constantly encouraging him to be himself. Hence, their relationship is not a problem. However, his hunger for a championship may have a different outlook.

With Russ yet to make a significant difference, there could be a scenario where the Lakers and LeBron take the tough call and trade him to the Rockets. Wall is a much better shooter and a great defender for a guard. Hence, he looks like a great solution for the Lakers’ struggles.
