It is truly the end of an era in the NBA. The Staples Center has been the home for the Los Angeles Lakers for the past 22 years. However, now the arena will see a change of name. There have been many iconic moments throughout history in this arena. It should come as no surprise that LeBron James decided to pay his tribute to a former Laker, Robert Horry who was a part of one such historical moment.

The Staples Center served the Lakers for the past 22 years. Becoming the arena for one of the most successful franchises in league history holds a lot of meaning to the fans. Hence, as the Lake show gear up for their last game at the Staples, a ceremony will take place. Many legends are set to come to give the arena a worthy send-off.

However, with this, the question of the most iconic moments came up. LeBron James believes Robert Horry deserves a place on that list.

The Staples Center has seen all eras of Laker basketball. From the days of Kobe and Shaq all the way to LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the arena has been through many moments.

However, some of these memories have etched themselves in history with the Staples as their witness. So when the question about an iconic moment came up, Bron was quick to back up Big Shot Rob’s iconic game-winner.

A poll of some iconic moments came up on Twitter. It included the famous Kobe lob to Shaq, Kobe’s 81 point game, his final 60 point game, and the 2010 finals Game 7. While Kyle Kuzma struggled to choose, LeBron felt it had one moment missing: Robert Horry’s game-winning shot against Sacramento in the 2002 playoffs did not make the list.

James did not let this slide as he tweeted out saying he feels the game-winner should be considered for the most iconic moment. The Lakers came back from a 24 point deficit and won the game due to Horry’s finesse. Both Kobe and Shaq missed the layup, but the ball was sent out to the perimeter. From there, a hot hand Horry hit the game-winning three to secure the win.
