Health and safety protocols have hit many teams hard. Notably, many of the players from the Lakers roster have had to enter the same. They have the liberty to sign one more player until one of their players return from the protocols. Likewise, LeBron James has seen some of his former teammates ready to suit up for the Lakers. One of them even criticized the King recently.
The Lakers have had already had some veterans make their way back to the league. While the move for Isaiah Thomas did not work out, Darren Collison, Stanley Johnson, Jemerrio Jones still have a chance to make a case for themselves. However, it seems the Lake show is hot as two more veterans are hoping to get a chance to suit up: Iman Shumpert and Michael Beasley.
They both openly expressed their desire to join forces with their former teammate LeBron James.

LeBron James has former teammates ready to go
Only recently, Shumpert gave some criticism to LeBron saying he ruined basketball with his move to Miami. Now he openly called out him and Carmelo Anthony to give him a chance with the veteran trend going on. He said it’s on the two of them. Despite the criticism, Shumpert and LeBron are on good terms. Notably, James even congratulated the former NBA star for winning the ‘Dancing With the Stars’ show.

On the other hand, Michael Beasley took it to Twitter to tell the Lakers what they need. While the Lake show struggled against the Nets, Beasley said they need help, implying they need his service. Both these stars have played alongside Bron. Shumpert saw success winning a title in 2016, while Beasley enjoyed a short stint during his time as a Laker.

Both these veterans have been away from the NBA for a long time. While they are both capable of playing, the Lakers are yet to have all the veterans get a turn on the floor. Moreover, they will hope their original players get back as soon as possible. Till then, a move is surely possible with the number of players entering the health and safety protocols rising by the day.
The Lake show is just getting a rhythm with LeBron James on absolute fire. If they do decide to go for Shumpert, he could add decent defensive pressure to the team. As for Beasley, the Lakers would get a scoring boost off him. Either way, there is something for the purple and gold.
