The NBA Media Day was in full swing recently across team facilities throughout the league. The superstars of the NBA got to address their fans, set expectations for the coming season, and talk about other related stuff. The Los Angeles Lakers Media Day also followed a similar setup. And LeBron James was an active participant. In an NBA TV Q&A reel, the King can be seen naming his favorite player growing up, and it isn’t who fans think it may be.

LeBron James is arguably performing at the highest level and is still breaking NBA records. Somewhere in the mid-season, James is set to break the all-time scoring record, which is currently held by former Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. No one has come close to breaking the record for the past 33 years, but the King is set to make history this season once again.
LeBron James’ favorite player growing up was not an NBA player
In an NBA TV Q&A reel posted on social media, the King answered some tough questions in a rapid-fire setting.
James’ answers did turn some heads around. The most notable ones included the answers to his favorite food and his favorite player growing up.
LeBron James is known for his famous catchphrase, ‘Taco Tuesday’. But when he mentioned that his favorite food is Italian, fans in the comments section went wild with it. Another shocker for the fans was that his favorite player growing up wasn’t even from the NBA, it was actually baseball star Ken Griffey Jr.

But despite LeBron James’ individual success, the Lakers have fallen short of expectations. The 17-time champions failed to make a title run in the past two seasons. One of their superstars Anthony Davis has been injured throughout the majority of the games. The All-Star power forward missed 88 games over the last two seasons.
Their latest superstar signing, Russell Westbrook, also failed to make the impact that was expected of him for the team. Brodie struggled throughout his debut season, averaging 18.5 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 7.1 assists in 78 games last season.
