The former MVP was traded to the Utah Jazz on deadline day and he has negotiated a buyout with the Jazz. With teams around the league monitoring his status, there were rumors linking Westbrook to almost every major side. Latest sources have revealed his next team and interestingly enough, he will not be leaving the city of Los Angeles anytime soon.

Westbrook has joined the Los Angeles Clippers according to prominent ESPN journalist Adrian Wojnarowski. NBA fans on Twitter cannot keep calm as a big three potentially brews in the city of Los Angeles. However, this time it is not in the Los Angeles Lakers.

Nine-time All-Star Russell Westbrook faced a lot of flak from the media and the fans during his time with the Los Angeles Lakers. This eventually led to his trade away from the Lakers on trade deadline day.

The Los Angeles Clippers seemed like a likely destination for Brodie. With players welcoming him to the team and Paul George admiring his former teammate, Clippers fans expected their team to make the move for Westbrook.

The deal has finally materialized. Westbrook’s agent confirmed the news to ESPN and this has sent shockwaves across the NBA world. Here’s what fans had to say on Twitter.

As the above reactions suggest, NBA fans and LeBron James and Lakers fans, in particular, are not happy to see their former player join their rivals. On the other hand, there are also numerous fans who want Russ to succeed in the Clippers. With the team already stacked with players like Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, the Clippers fanbase certainly have something to look forward to after Russ officially joins them.

Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and Russell Westbrook will be taking the court together for the first time very soon. This has the potential to be the next big three in the league. Considering how some previous big threes performed, the Clippers will be treading carefully.

Westbrook and PG played together for the Oklahoma City Thunder during the 2017-18 season and the 2018-19 season. George joined the Clippers after his stint with OKC  whereas Westbrook joined the Houston Rockets.
