Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is arguably having one of his most monumental seasons so far. James has played against the greats like Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal during his 20-season-long career. In his 20th season, James is all set to break a monumental 38-year-old NBA all-time scoring record. ‘King James’ is now only 100 odd points short of the Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s 38,387 points record. Moreover, Abdul-Jabbar shared a kind message for James ahead of his massive feat. However, his words seemingly triggered Lakers fans as they flooded Twitter with their opinions on how they believe he must really feel.
James has had an impressive season so far as he scored 1,237 points while averaging 30.2 PPG in 41 games so far. Though the Lakers have had a dull outing in the Western Conference table, James continues to dominate from his personal front. Moreover, 19x NBA All-Star created another record of scoring 40+ points against every NBA team.

In a recent ‘NBA on TNT’ show, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar shared a heartfelt message about passing on the mantle to LeBron James. He said, “I’ve been carrying the torch as record holder for 38 years. I’m excited and relieved to pass it along to the next worthy recipient. LeBron earned it and I hope he carries it even longer than I did.” Though the message sounded heartwarming, some fans didn’t read it that way. Legion Hoops shared Abdul-Jabbar’s quote on Twitter, and fans swarmed the comments with their thoughts.
Reacting to the tweet, one user said, “He salty.” Another user mocked the legend with a meme and said, “How he really feels.”
