Stephen Curry is arguably one of the greatest players of all time. He has changed the way basketball is played around the world. His influence on the game is indisputable. In the Golden State Warriors’ run to the championship last season, Curry broke out a new celebration which soon went viral. LeBron James called him out after a surfaced video of a kid doing the celebration.

Curry’s ‘night, night’ celebration became viral in last season’s playoffs. He used it against every team the Warriors played against in the playoffs at least once. Recently, he shared a video of a kid taking his celebration to the next level. He captioned the video, “Went to sleep on em!”

The kid literally fell to the court doing the celebration. LeBron James was quick to reply to the viral video. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar has firsthand experience of Curry’s on-court abilities but the two have built a camaraderie over the past few years. The King replied to the video by saying, “You see what you started!!”

While the celebration is relatively new, it has gone viral with many athletes doing it across different sports. Stephen Curry has truly started a new trend and it won’t be surprising to see more athletes doing the celebration.

Stephen Curry started a new movement

The Golden State Warriors star used the celebration for the first time against the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs. He imitated a sleeping gesture after hitting the dagger shot in Game 3 that put the Nuggets away.

Curry did the celebration again in the closeout game against the Nuggets and he followed it up in the next round against the Memphis Grizzlies. However, the celebration started gaining steam after the Conference Finals against the Dallas Mavericks.

Steph did the celebration for the final time after sealing the Larry O’Brien trophy against the Boston Celtics in the Finals. Curry won the Finals MVP for the first time in his career after a historic run to the championship.

Consequently, the celebration went viral with various athletes doing it. Now, shirts are being sold with the trademark celebration on them and it will be fun to see Curry doing it again once the next season starts.
