However, the Lakers launched a surprise attack toward the end of the third quarter, eventually securing a lead by the last part of the game. Just when the Laker nation was getting ready to celebrate a victory, Celtic’s star Jayson Tatum shifted gears.
Tatum took the Celtics on a 17-4 run and tied the game with less than 20 seconds remaining. The game went into overtime and the Celtics bagged a win. During a segment on Inside the NBA, Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley discussed the result of the game while showing no mercy to the Lakers.

Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum‘s 44 points and Jaylen Brown‘s 25 overpowered Anthony Davis‘ 37 and LeBron James‘ 33 points in a resounding victory for Boston. Eventually, the Boston Celtics beat the Los Angeles Lakers by four points. This game was the main topic of discussion during the post-game Inside the NBA show. NBA Legend Shaquille O’Neal and 11-time NBA All-Star Charles Barkley showered the Lakers with heavy criticism.

Shaquille O’Neal spoke about Boston Celtic’s performance. He claimed that this game showed that the team “had heart”. While talking about the last two-quarters of the game, he said, “The Lakers punched them out, they responded and responded well.”
Shaq then stated that the Celtics stars Brown and Tatum answered their call of duty while pushing the team past the victory line. Following this, the Big Aristotle spoke about reports that suggested the Lakers were tired after their long away stint. This didn’t sit well with Charles Barkley. He fired back at the panel for making excuses for the LA team.
. Charles Barkley proclaimed that he doesn’t but the whole tired narrative touted by the media. While stating that the Celtics were playing back-to-back games, he said, “The Celtics played last night, the Lakers didn’t. I don’t want to hear no excuses about being tired”.
The Lakers are currently languishing in the 12th place in the Western Conference with an unflattering record of 11-16.

During the post-game interviews, Jaylen Brown spoke about the message the Celtics sent to the league after this victory. He said, “That game just says a lot about our experience and mental toughness.?

Boston Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla was critical of his team’s showcase despite bagging the win. He stated that games shouldn’t be won in the last quarter or overtime. He further added, “We have to be elite at managing the end of the third, beginning of the fourth quarter”.?
