It’s no secret Los Angeles Lakers are not at their best. They might get a win or two, but they are not consistent at all. The team turns up and shows promise, but the very next game it is all back to square one. LeBron James has been having a tremendous season, but the team has struggled and all their stars have underperformed drastically.
Their position and their roster do not match with each other. They might not be one in championship contention, but one would certainly hope to find the Lakers in a respectable position fighting for the playoffs’ spots with the firepower they have.

After the supreme performance of 56 points on Sunday, the Lakers have not carried their momentum. They have lost the next two games which everyone expected them to win, against San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets. Both those teams are in a worse position than the Lakers. Losing both those games was more disappointing than it was impressive winning against the Warriors.
LeBron James to blame?
LeBron catches fire so casually in games and makes it look too easy. His performances show he is still on his top level. One might say he is past his prime, but he still shows glimpses of his best game repeatedly. But there is some truth to it that he can not do it all every single game and that is what Marcellus Wiley and Emmanuel Acho talk about on Speak for Yourself.
Emmanuel Acho said, “LeBron James went all out this past weekend not realizing you got two games that are more important than the game you just dropped 56 points in.”
“So LeBron James ultimately let one win cost him two games and I gotta impart blame LeBron James because while he wowed the crowd and thank you, LeBron James, for it because at the end of the day if I was in Crypto Arena, put up 56 points against Steph Curry, do that entertain me, me, me, I, I, I, mine, mine, mine. But if you’re LeBron James, you got to be calculated. You gotta treat the rest of the regular season like a 7 game playoff series.”

“LeBron James pulled a Tupac out there. All eyes on me when I’m playing Golden State, so let me ball out,” said Marcellus in conversation with Acho.
Now James’ slowness is visible enough to cost the Lakers a game sometimes. But you can’t blame a guy for dropping an absolute masterclass of 56 points when the team loses the next two. He physically can not give the same output every single game, but the way he is playing is still extraordinary. Although there is some truth in what Acho and Willey said, one must agree that what James does so easily in every other game for the Lakers is unreal.

He wins them games and is applauded and when he can’t pull off the absolute best; he is blamed. That is probably the cost of being as great as the King.
