After signing the likes of Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony, the LA Lakers tipped to win the NBA championship. However, the season didn’t turn out as they hoped. Lakers had a dismal showing in the regular season, partly due to injuries and rest because of just poor performances. The only real positive for the team was LeBron James.

‘King James’ performed at an MVP level throughout the regular season and averaged 30.3 PPG. But the team couldn’t capitalize and now fans are speculating about his future.

LeBron recently joked with Kyle Kuzma on Twitter about being in a broadcasting booth for the games. He has tweeted on various topics lately and this has got the fans talking. They are not taking this kindly with many comparing it with Magic Johnson’s bad habit of tweeting.

Fans are concerned that LeBron may follow a similar suit to Magic in leaving the Lakers after a season that did not meet expectations.

Magic Johnson left his role as a Laker’s executive towards the end of the 2018-19 season. Even though there are no indications yet, fans fear LeBron may take Magic’s approach of probably leaving the Lakers next season.

This season was a failure for the Lakers organization as a whole. They were one of the pre-season favorites to win the west and move to the finals but their season never really took off. The team could never really find a rhythm. Also, the old roster had numerous injuries throughout the season which resulted in the roster never really having a set rotation and never finding its identity.

LeBron has a decision to make. He can stay with the team and go ahead for one more season. Because seldom do locations provide a market like LA. But for that, he will need to commit to his future. Along with AD, Lebron can still win a championship here in LA. The question is, is Lebron’s heart set on winning in LA?
