Stephen Curry has rounded off his career accomplishments with style this year. He won the ever-eluding Finals MVP award this year. He deserved it for his performances in the series. Curry couldn’t stop draining threes through the basket and the Boston defense was never truly able to slow him down.

By the virtue of this performance, many have staked Curry’s claim to be among the top 10. It had already been discussed endlessly by every NBA fan and analyst worldwide. This topic has plagued sports media for the last three years and it has heated up recently. Curry winning his fourth title in the past decade does answer some questions about his credibility.

Former player Kendrick Perkins and journalist Max Kellerman (of ‘I want Iguodala’ fame) discussed this. Perkins, who is known for his wild opinions, stated the obvious this time around.

He thought that Curry should be in the top 10 all-time list. Kellerman’s opinion was that enough respect was given to Curry by putting him in the Top 12. The journalist thought that Shaquille O’Neal should be higher due to his massive peak in the early 2000s.

Kendrick said, “What you need to is to respect the greatness of Steph Curry and appreciate it while you can turn your television on and watch this man go to work.” Kellerman was flabbergasted because he did put him in his top 12.

The journalist then compared Curry to former teammate Kevin Durant. Perkins thought that there was no way Durant was higher than Curry. Max Kellerman ended things by saying, “You might be higher than Kevin Durant.”?

Kellerman and Kendrick’s conversation does illuminate how people see Steph inside and outside the NBA world. Many would place him in their top 10 lists, but many would think he is overrated. One of the names mentioned above: Shaquille O’Neal already gave Curry a place in his Top 10 list before this year’s Finals.

Shaq said, “When it comes to the greatest shooter of all time, Steph Curry is in there by itself.” Hence, that made him top ten on Shaq’s list already.
