In addition to his on-court drama, Simmons recently revealed an off-court battle. As per his admission, he has been battling mental health issues for a while now. Following the news, the NBA community has poured in their wishes for the 25-YO over the past few weeks.
As a result, the team (otherwise deranged with his behaviour) has also decided to help their player out. In four seasons with Philly, Simmons averaged close to 16 points. Thus, it is only natural that the franchise takes care of one of its sons.

Sixers receive a key update on Ben Simmons’ mental health
As a professional athlete, it is never easy to permanently be in the best state of mind. One is always under the pressure to perform, and battle themselves as well as the public. A couple of weeks ago, Simmons had a fallout with coach Doc Rivers. After a string of fines, he revealed that he has been fighting against mental issues. Since his honest confession, the 76ers have taken the time to find out the details regarding the issue.
According to Shams Charania, Simmons has given his current team the names of his mental health professionals. The side is doing everything it can to help the guard-forward during this tumultuous time. In addition, it has also asked Simmons for further details, but the player is yet to give his consent. Provided he agrees in accordance with patient confidentiality, the franchise will take the next step.
