According to NY Daily News, both league and player circles believe Kyrie Irving is “gone”. After only three seasons, in which he featured in only 103 regular-season games, the “scary hours” look to be over. The LA Lakers are the frontrunners for Kyrie’s signatures. If that transpires, Kyrie Irving and LeBron James will reunite.
The star-studded duo was a force to be reckoned with during their time in Cleveland. Their on-court synergy was unrivaled. However, the duo split after only three seasons of magic. They now have an opportunity to reunite with Anthony Davis as the third star in LA, and challenge for the title.
The Lakers, however, have two options for acquiring Irving. First, the player may decline his $36 million contract for the 2022-23 season and join the Lakers for the mid-level exception.
