NBA superstar LaMelo Ball is one of the most important players for the Charlotte Hornets. Now a video of Ball from 2018 is shared by NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal. The ‘Big Diesel’ was one of the most dominant players to play in the league. His size and strength, coupled with his quickness, made him unstoppable. During his prime, dominated both ends of the court for fun. Over the course of his career, he won 4 NBA championships, 3 Finals MVP awards, and 1 League MVP award. However, Shaq is not just a ballplayer, he is an entertainer. And he has taken it up several levels after his retirement from the NBA.

Also, O’Neal is known for sharing some of the most random and or funny things on his social media now and then. And recently, he shared an old video of one of NBA legend Michael Jordan’s Charlotte Hornets players. The video was from 2018 and featured superstar LaMelo Ball playing for the JBA Team USA squad.

In the video shared as an Instagram story, a young Ball was seen slapping an opponent player. This started a full-on brawl between the two teams, and the players had to be separated. For his actions, Ball was ejected from the game.
LaMelo Ball before joining Michael Jordan and the Hornets
LaMelo Ball didn’t take the usual route to the NBA. After high school, LaMelo played in the Junior Basketball Association. LaVar Ball, the father of the Ball brothers, founded the JBA in 2017.
The intention of the league was to provide an alternative to the NCAA by allowing high school and junior college players to play professionally. The league had 8 teams from major cities. And LaMelo played for the Los Angeles Ballers team.

Furthermore, LaMelo and the LA Ballers won the JBA league that year. After the end of the season, the JBA team USA squad started their international tour. During their tour in Lithuania, LaMelo slapped Mindaugas Susinskas playing against BC Dzukija.
After the ball went out of bounds, Susinskas gave Ball a friendly slap on the back of the head. LaMelo took offense to the gesture and reacted. And this sparked a full-blown fight between both teams.

However, the JBA league wouldn’t survive and Ball had to look at other options. He then joined the Illawarra Hawks an Australian professional team, in 2019. Playing against players much older than him, Ball showcased his abilities to the world.
Then, in 2020, Ball declared for the NBA draft. And Michael Jordan and the Hornets selected him as the 3rd overall pick of 2020. Fast forward to 2022, LaMelo Ball is one of the superstars of the Hornets franchise and an All-Star.
