The Los Angeles Lakers are finally figuring things out. Their ‘Big 3’ of LeBron James, Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis are working well together. However, it seems luck has yet again gone against them. In their game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Lakers will miss LeBron James once again. This will hurt them big time since the ‘King’ has been playing really well since his return.

Since James’ return, the Lakers are yet to lose a game. Going a 3 game win streak, the on court chemistry has stated to look good with each game. With LeBron missing this contest, it adds a major hiccup in the road as the Lakers were building their unit.

LeBron James out with abdominal strain

The news of LeBron James’ injury couldn’t come at a worse time for the Lakers. The ‘King’ is coming off a dominating performance, scoring 14 of the last 30 points for the Lake show in the last game. Moreover, he has been the spreadhead of their team acting as a leader.

Moreover, James will be missing almost a week of action. Hence, not only OKC, but he will miss their games against Portland Trail Blazers, Charlotte Hornets and the Miami Heat. This could affect the purple and gold a lot as James was finally looking comfortable with his previous ankle injury.

For the Lakers, it is crucial to keep their heads straight in this situation. While they are missing a key piece, Anthony Davis and Russ have proved that they can work as a duo. In addition, Carmelo Anthony is also off to a hot start at home averaging almost 20 points per game.

Without LeBron, the Lakers need to make a statement as a unit and get the job done. They have some tough teams coming up in their schedule and it won’t be an easy task for here on out. Davis, Russ and Melo need to shine much brighter in LeBron James’ absence and keep the Lakers afloat at this time.
