The Lakers’ struggles are quite apparent. In the 2021-22 season, their sole aim was to reduce the burden on LeBron James. However, the 18-time All-Star has found himself shouldering a bulk of their load yet again. Still looking to strengthen their roster and find their best combination, owner Jeanie Buss and the Lakers are reportedly set to offload an experienced star.

This sudden stress isn’t without reason. After all, LeBron James and the Lakers are in need of some backup. With star player Anthony Davis out due to injury and some reinforcements required off the bench, they need fresh recruits. 32-year-old Kent Bazemore played his first season with the Lakers back in 2013. A talented guard-forward, his best outing in terms of average points remains his first stint in LA. That year, he amassed an average of 13.1 points. In the ongoing season however, he is neither receiving a lot of game-time, nor managing to make a lasting impact. As a result, the franchise may look to offload their #9.

According to a recent report, the Lakers are looking to trade the wing by the end of the deadline. The reliable Jake Fischer updated that, “The Lakers are searching to find Kent Bazemore a new home after he opened the season as a starter.” 

Yes, it is true. From beginning the season in the starting lineup, Bazemore has fallen out of the pecking order. Averaging a mere 3.9 points and 0.9 assists, the end of the road seems near.
