If we talk about re-framing the setup, none have done it to the extent of the Los Angeles Lakers. They have found a good balance between signings and releases so far; however, the side still has some minor gaps to fill. Despite possessing some sensational players, there are a couple of areas where opponents can still catch the Lakers napping. But now, the side may have found a solution to a major concern.
What exactly are Los Angeles lacking?
Frank Vogel’s side has some legends of the game this year- LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Carmelo Anthony, Russell Westbrook, among others. The crux of the yellow army’s attack continues to be their ability to power their way to the two-pointers within the zone. Many of the players occupy the floor space and struggle from long range. Carmelo Anthony’s arrival may ease the situation a bit, but he needs assistance since he can only do so much off the bench.

Added to this, the age factor weighs against the Lakers. Having many players over the age of 32 could haunt them in the long run. Sure, it can be argued that the professionalism of their stalwarts can carry them, but fatigue spares nobody. Versatility will be key, and the team is in need of wingers. And now, they are rumored to have their eyes set on someone.

James Ennis linked with Lakers to improve wing depth
As of now, James and co. have three spots to fill up. This is crucial, considering squad depth is so vital for the aging squad. They also need to brush up on the defensive end, meaning that a winger who can contribute on both sides of the court will be ideal. According to NBA source Marc Stein, the side is eyeing Orlando Magic guard-forward James Ennis.

“For the Lakers, wing depth is more important than a backup guard. James Ennis is a name that has been mentioned for the Lakers,”?reported the insider. Such a buy will majorly improve the depth of the Lakers setup, especially on the defensive end. Moreover, Ennis shot at over 43% from the three-point range last time around. With fellow potential wings like Bazemore and Carmelo, the 31-year-old adds to the flexibility of LA.
