Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss has a very distinct way of communicating with people. She has always shared her thoughts in a “Dear Diary” fashion, except the latter is usually private. Twitter, of course, is a public platform and her tweets are seen by millions of NBA fans. Buss has again posted cryptic tweets about the situation in the team. On the surface, it looks like a tribute tweet to the late Kobe Bryant but it seems to be deeper than that.

She tweeted, “I miss KB, He would understand and explain everything that I’m not allowed to. Honestly, he was the greatest Laker ever. He understood team over self. Meaning your rewards would come if you valued team goals over your own then everything would fall into place. All can reply.”

To some experts, it could mean a Russell Westbrook-Kyrie Irving trade. The team needs to be competitive after a failed season last year. Not qualifying for the playoffs is like a death sentence for any Los Angeles Lakers team.

The 17-time champions have high expectations from their coaches and their players but standards have been slacking recently. It has arguably not been a great two years for the Lakers since the bubble championship.

Can the Lakers provide a boost to their title chances by getting Kyrie Irving?

But it is not too late. The Los Angeles Lakers acquiring Kyrie Irving might re-create the magic that he and LeBron James had at the Cleveland Cavaliers. A Russell Westbrook trade is the silver bullet that would allow the Lakers to kill both birds.

Kyrie Irving?arguably had a better year than Russell Westbrook, despite missing the majority of games in the regular season. The Brooklyn Nets might not have any other option than to take this deal. An Irving-James reunion in LA would certainly change the dynamic of the league next season.
