As one of the most illustrious franchises in the NBA, the Los Angeles Lakers have amassed a huge worldwide fanbase. The Lakers have over the years been the go-to destinations for some of the league’s biggest stars. Their current roster has massive star power with the likes of LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook, and others. Recently, a top-ranking franchise executive provided comments on the current head coach.

Lakers owner and governor Jeanie Buss answered NBA.com regarding questions about head coach Frank Vogel. The website questioned Buss about Vogel’s performance as a head coach. Buss remained dismissive of the criticism leveled against Vogel and backed the coaching staff to turn the team’s form around.

Buss said, “Until we’re 100 percent healthy, I don’t think you can really make any judgment. We’re as connected as any organization can be. I really don’t know what you’re looking for me to say. I would say until we’re 100 percent healthy, I won’t make any judgments about anything.

Vogel responded to the criticism, saying, “It’s not up to me. I don’t spend a lot of time thinking about it. Really just focused on the job.” Buss also revealed that Vogel attended the franchises’ season-ticket holder event. Lakers legends Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar also attended the event.

Vogel joined the Lakers on May 13, 2019. He won the 2020 NBA title in his first season with the franchise. He is currently under contract with the organization until the 2022-23 season.
