Due to the Crypto.com deal, the Staples Center will no longer be known by its former name. The lifetime naming rights to the same are now being sold at an estimated $700 million. In the past, the Staples Center has seen many landmark moments. It has been a witness to many records being broken.

When Pau Gasol was asked about his most memorable moment in Staples Center, he said that it was winning the championship in the finals against the Boston Celtics.

In the past two decades, the Staples Center has been the home to two of the most prominent NBA teams: the LA Lakers and their city rival, the Clippers. For the players, the arena has left a wealth of memories that they will never be able to forget. The match between the Spurs and the Lakers was the final game played at the stage, which will now see a change in name.

 

As of today, the logo has been removed. It will now be known as Crypto.com Arena. Throughout the event, people have had an emotional reaction. The Los Angeles Lakers’ Twitter account shared a post asking fans to share their favorite memories of the arena. Gasol shared one of his favorite memories on Twitter by writing:

“Game 7 in 2010 against the Celtics!!”

Kobe Bryant and Gasol played a major role in winning the 2010 title, and they are known for their great partnership. They won against the Celtics, with a score of 83-79. It is indeed a fond memory for Gasol, reminding him of his time with Kobe Bryant as well as the matches at the Staples Center.
