However, the excitement does not end there as the NBA draft packs quite a punch about who will get the next superstar in the league. So far, everyone knows that Victor Wembanyama will be going as the number one pick in the next year’s draft. And speculations have already started long before he has even played a single NBA game. But it looks like fans have had enough of that now.
Victor Wembanyama has not even played a single NBA game yet. However, fans, analysts, and even legends have already started to draw comparisons between him and current NBA players and even some legends, such as LeBron James. Which may have not gone down well with fans.
Fans urge Magic to stop with the LeBron James comparison

Recently, Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson drew comparisons between Wembanyama and LeBron James. According to David Akerman of Lakers Daily, Johnson said, “This guy is going to change his franchise forever. The hype is real.”
“He will probably make an impact like LeBron did when he first came into the league. This young man is special,” added Magic. The Lakers legend did get to meet the French sensation during the NBA Paris games. Yet fans were not on board with Johnson drawing comparisons between a player who has dominated the league for so long to someone who has yet to prove himself in the league.

Does a comparing narrative hamper a player’s growth?
As exciting as it may seem to compare a potential future star to other great players, what the majority of fans are claiming may be right. The whole comparison of players with current stars in the league does hamper their true game.
