Lakers Legend Kobe Bryant’s Wife Vanessa Sends Her Regards as GM Rob Pelinka Celebrates Special Day

The late great Kobe Bryant‘s wife, Vanessa Bryant, recently shared a heartfelt message for her “big brother”, Los Angeles Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka. A beautiful photo was shared on Pelinka’s birthday showing Pelinka and Bryant’s daughter having a wonderful time. Along with the pictures, she also added a caption that read, “Happy Birthday to my big brother, RP! We love you and are so grateful for you,” the caption reads. It is no secret that Pelinka has a very close bond with the Bryant household.

As the family was going through a difficult time following the helicopter crash in which Bryant and Gianna ‘Gigi’ tragically lost their lives, he was there to support them. Pelinka supported Vanessa and her family during the hard times they had to go through. 

As a result of this social media post, fans expressed their love for them in the comments. Pelinka and Kobe had been close friends for the past 20 years, and their relationship grew stronger every year.

The Lakers announced in 2017 that Pelinka, a former agent of Kobe Bryant, would be the team’s next general manager. As per the reports, the ‘Black Mamba’ played a huge role in ensuring Pelinka was selected for the Lakers’ high-profile executive position. 

In spite of the fact that he had no experience in running a team, the five-time NBA champion had confidence in him. By sharing this wonderful news on social media, Kobe Bryant congratulated his long-time friend.

“No one knows the business of basketball more than @robpelinka. I wish him & the Lakers much success as they bring winning bball back to LA,” Bryant said in 2017.

Bryant and Pelinka’s friendship

From the time Pelinka first signed Bryant as a client in 1998 to their 20 years together in the Lakers org, the duo’s relationship remained strong. In addition, Pelinka has never missed a chance to support Bryant’s family, even after his death. The sports agent-turned-Lakers GM and the Bryant family have been through many ups and downs together in their careers and personal lives.
