Robert Horry feared for his son’s life
In the podcast episode, co-host Rob Jenners asked Horry if he knew the area well, where the shooting took place. Horry spent his first four years in the league with the Houston Rockets. The seven-time NBA champion revealed that he had got the news from his wife, Candice Madrid, at about 3 am-4 am.
The first person who came to his mind was his eldest son Cameron. Horry said that Cameron used to hang out in the bowling alley, where the shooting took place and he probably still did. Moreover, he had heard that someone else had gotten shot. To make matters worse, they found no luck in reaching out to Cameron via phone. The calls went straight to voicemail.
“I got scared immediately because I heard two other people got shot. And Cameron’s phone is going straight to voicemail. So I was like, ‘Oh Sh*t!’ you know,” the seven-time NBA champion said.
Furthermore, Horry added that as a parent, he felt bad for everybody who were involved in the situation.
