Paying him and also forcing your fans to watch him makes sense that teams want a first to take on Westbrick.

According to Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times, there are a lot of things to consider before trading the nine-time All-Star. “Four months later, the market for Westbrook has largely been unchanged,” wroye Woike. He further added, “According to league sources from rival teams, The sense is any Westbrook trade probably would still require the Lakers to include a first-round pick to offset a team paying the rest of Westbrook’s $47 million salary.”
The current condition seems like a huge step back for LeBron James and co. as they struggle to get out of the slump they’re stuck in. At the start of the season, Westbrook was unable to have any impact while starting games.
Although the nine-time All-Star made great contributions coming off the bench, his effect seems to be fading as the Lakers complete the course of their disappointing season.

The Lakers’ disappointing 2022-23 season and if there’s any hope with the trade market
The Purple and Gold won against the Indiana Pacers on Thursday to take their season’s record to 25-28. But they need much more of these to fight for a playoff spot. In short, they need an incredible winning streak to even think of competing.
Their trade window shenanigans might bear fruit if they think hard and fast, which is needed to save their season. Additionally, the squad might be fully revamped next season if they end up on a bitter note, without fighting for playoff contention.
