Andre Drummond wants more Game Time with the Lakers

Andre Drummond averaged just 21 minutes per game in the playoffs. In those minutes he gave them 9 points and 11 rebounds. This was because they needed a center who can spread the floor. Hence, Drummond’s place was taken by Marc Gasol in game 6, where Drummond did not play a single minute.

While Drummond is an elite rebounder, he had no assists in the 5 games he played in. Drummond does not have the ability to make plays, he is more of a paint dominant center who grabs rebounds. However, Marc Gasol is a versatile big man who knows how to spread the floor and can also shoot from beyond the arc.

In a recent Instagram interaction, Drummond said that he could dominate the paint like Brook Lopez or DeAndre Ayton if he got more play time.

Now, there is no doubt if Drummond plays more minutes he will dominate the rebounds and score a bit more than he does right now. The two time All-star has been the rebounding leader 4 times in the league. However, Lakers need players to make plays.

This offseason will be crucial for the Lakers as they want to be back in contention for the championship. Due to lack of game time, Andre Drummond may decide to leave the Lakers and go to a team where he gets more game time.
