The Los Angeles Lakers lost their third straight game of the season as they lost to the Portland Trail Blazers at home. The Trail Blazers, however, are now 3-0 in the season thanks to a 41-point performance from Damian Lillard. The six-time All-Star also bagged 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Lakers’ LeBron James scored 31 points and almost bagged a triple-double with 8 rebounds and 8 assists. However, Anthony Davis, who scored 22 points, also made it to the headlines for missing an open basket.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis had a good game against the Blazers. However, without much support from the other starters, the Lakers lost their third straight game. The Lakers had a good lead before going into the final quarter as they scored 35 points. But the Blazers bounced back with a 28-point performance in the final quarter to win the game.
During the third quarter, Anthony Davis had an opportunity to bury a basket without being guarded. However, he instead hit the sideboard and failed to hit a three. Portland Trail Blazers center Jusuf Nurkic was in front of Davis but quickly turned around when Davis received the ball outside the arc.
NBA Twitter trolls the Lakers and Anthony Davis for missing an open shot
Jusuf Nurkic, seemingly on purpose, was seen turning around from Anthony Davis and walking away. Nurkic was in front of Davis and was supposed to rush to recover the ball. However, Davis couldn’t turn it into a basket, which has led to massive trolling of the Lakers on social media.

At this point, just dismantle the whole team … send AD to Washington for picks, then trade Russ, and those other role players to Indiana for Myles and Buddy and the picks you got from Washington … then try to make additional moves before the trade deadline

This moment arguably sums up the season so far for the Los Angeles Lakers. They have been good and have got many opportunities to turn the situation around. However, they have failed to capitalize on key occasions and are now 0-3 this season.

He is averaging 27.1 points so far this season and posted 30.3 points per game last season.
