Hate is something that Brittney Griner has been receiving for a long time. Prior to her arrest due to drug charges, she was bashed for her political views. Moreover, her sexuality has also been part of numerous debates worldwide. However, all this have failed to slow Brittney Griner down. On the contrary, she has registered her dominance on the hardwood with immense conviction.
Despite the hate, she has consistently been one of the best players in the WNBA. Unfortunately, Griner’s father and other family members also receive hate because of their association with the Phoenix Mercury star.

For instance, Griner and her father, Raymond Griner, once received a lot of hate on social media which prompted retaliation from Brittney. She took to Instagram during Father’s Day to show some love to her father. A routine hater of Griner commented under the post which crossed the lines.
The troll wrote, “2 men.” This wasn’t taken well by Griner who got back at her hater. “[You] always got something smart to say! Why don’t you try to get a life and stop being a sorry individual that has nothing to do but be a horrible demon! You need to look and [sic] the mirror and se what u are!!! Get a life!“, wrote Griner.
It seems Brittney Griner regularly reads all the hate and love messages she gets online. Her above reply to her hater makes it evident enough.
Brittney Griner had an uneven relationship with her father earlier
Although Ray and his daughter seem to be on good terms currently, it was not always the case. Griner made news worldwide after publicly coming out regarding her sexuality. She received both hate and support from people around the world and the same can be said about her household.
Ray once asserted that “he wasn’t “raising any lesbian.” However, their relationship has changed for the good. Raymond Griner has come to terms with his daughter and accepted her for who she is.

She revealed that one of the major reasons why her family accepted her was basketball. Brittney was an exceptional basketball player during her time at Baylor University and she was drafted as the #1 pick during the 2013 WNBA draft by the Phoenix Mercury.
