The Brooklyn Nets have still not offered a contract extension to their point guard, Kyrie Irving. Irving is eligible for a super max deal, but the Nets are still not making any offer to him. And now new rumors have emerged that might show him the exit door from the Nets.

Kyrie missed a majority of the season and he has missed a considerable amount in his three years with the Nets. So the organization is worried about his availability. He also attracts a ton of unwanted media attention and they believe this might reflect badly on their entire organization. And Kyrie is also been injury prone, so that is another concern. On his best day, Kyrie is a showstopper and is one of the best point guards in the league.

Nets are open to sign and trade for Kyrie Irving if he opts out

Irving has a player option for next year, so regardless of the Nets offering an extension, he will likely be back. But this would mean that the Nets could lose him for free next season. So many around the league think that the Nets are looking to offload Kyrie.

NBA teams around the league believe the Nets are more likely to sign-and-trade Kyrie if he opts-out of his contract. Except for a couple of teams, who already have superstar point guards, every team would want to have Kyrie. Several teams also have the cap space to trade for him. Unsurprisingly, Kyrie is a box office sensation and he would make any team better.

But any team in the NBA would also be vary about the distractions he brings. But if they feel like he is worth all that attraction and would likely trade for him. Moreover, the Nets will expect something massive in return for a player like Irving. As Kyrie has averaged nearly 27 points in the last three years and only a handful of people can say in this league.
